Tire Blowouts
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that 1/3 of current passenger and light truck tires on the nation’s roadways couldn’t pass the NHTSA’s proposed high speed and endurance tests.
There are strict state laws in Florida that truckers and trucking companies must follow in regards to Tires.
Regrooved Tires:
Regrooved tires shall not be used on school buses or any vehicle other than a commercial vehicle. Such tires are used on commercial vehicles shall be of a type manufactured and designed for regrooving. Regrooved tires, regardless of size, shall not be used on the front wheels of buses.
Recapped Tires:
Tires that are capped or retreaded for highway use shall have a tread pattern that complies with certain specifications of the vehicle code. Recapped or retreaded tires shall not be used on the front wheels of buses or farm labor vehicle.
